"The Heart Still Burns" is the second episode of the series Snowjacked. It aired on July 3rd, 2012.
Overview[]
When Derf finds out that Layta is missing he tries to get help from the unknown creatures that refuses to help him because he burn their house. Meanwhile, a girl and her boyfriend are experimenting' 'with Layta because they think she is a creature.
Plot[]
When Derf finds a letter on the floor where Layta was, he discovers that she has been Snowjacked like her family and needs help of the creatures to figure out from who the letter is, but the creatures refuse to help him because earlier he destroyed their house on a fire and the only way to solve it was going alone on the mountain.Meanwhile, Layta wakes up discovering that a scientist named Jane believes that she is a creature of the mountain and the scientist wants to experiment with Layta's body. While Derf intends to finding Layta, she refuses to let Jane experiment with her and that she let her go, but she still refuses and puts her on a secret room where she is with a robot that break spines and kill humans, while Jane tells her that if she doesn't go to the robot, she is going to think that Layta is not a human.
Derf finally finds the place where Layta is and kills Jane's boyfriend Brend, while she is still refusing to let Layta go, but Derf tells Layta to walk up to the robot because nothing is going to happen. Layta ends up dead with Jane and Brend. Derf reunites with the creatures, who let Derf use their liquid which revives humans. Jane forgives Layta while she says it's cool and Derf appoligizes to Brend who tells him that is okay because Derf revived him.
